What does that mean? Well, it means that if you signed up after January, if you posted fic after January... basically, anything done since 20 January 2007, has been lost. My apologies.
The files of the stories are still there, but not the details. I'm not sure entirely how to rectify this. I'm very down about it. *cries*

The second is the Promos Gallery, which contains a selection of promotional pics nabbed from various picspams at the BSH. If anyone wants to contribute, I will let them have the password so you can log in and upload your pics.
If anyone from the BSH is interested in maintaining this site for a week while I'm in hospital, please for the love of god, email me (link to the side). Cheers.

Mods and Admins, you guys, as always, still need your passwords to get in to the admin section, whether at the archive, or the backend of the site... not that anyone but me ever seems to use this feature anyway.
So, for getting on to the archive:
If you’re a regular user and know what you’re doing, you’ll need to Log In before you can see the fic.
If you are a writer on the site, but can’t remember your password, you’ll want to go to the Lost Password page. And if you don’t receive your password though the email within a few minutes, email me
If you’ve never had an account here, and just used the standard login (boosh, slashhaven), then you’ll need to Register.
Hope this is nice and clear for everyone.

ailcia

peak_in_darien
planetbanjo
cailenbraern and phoon founded the BSH at LJ, and a few months later I (Sarah) joined up and offered to host an archive for the work. Then I dropped out of the whole online thing because real life got in the way, and when I came back things had changed… I’m still not sure who does what now! Mostly I just lurk and code.
Mostly,
The BSH Website (maintained and run by Sarah)
The BSH site is mostly hand-coded by me, using css and php. This was my first database-driven website, and I’m still pleased with how nicely it worked out. Phoon did the original graphics and I worked out a layout to go with them, but when since the overhaul, I have done the graphics, since phoon, like me, dropped out of the online thing because of real life.
Scripts and coding
Some scripts are ready made. I originally used Icon Sort for the icons and Captivate 1.0 for the image galleries, both from The New Place. However, I’ve recently moved over to a blog script, which is my own coding, following the Build a Blog Tutorial at CodeGrrl.com
The database containing the fics was entirely my own coding. It’s the first time I’ve successfully coded something as large as that, so I’m feeling kinda smug. However, we moved over to eFiction for the automated archive, as it offers so many features that my coding just cannot match.
Password Protection
In case you’re new to this site, or have accessed it by requesting a password by email, rather than being part of the community, I’ll explain why the site lives behind a password... well, it’s mostly because of Noel’s comments on the audio commentary of The Fountain of Youth. The story he mentions is called I Love The Chosen One and is by phoon, tundra_boy and cailenbraern (under phoon’s name in the database), and a panic-stricken rant followed! So please, don’t go publicising this site in forums… or at least, publicise it all you want, but don’t give out the username and password on there!
Images and Credit
The images have been capped by me from the DVDs. Anything that isn’t capped by me should have credit leading back to where I found it. The caps are offered in zip format only at the moment. I’ve had a few issues with my computer – basically it died horribly and painfully and took everything I had on it with it. The only reason I still have the Boosh caps is because they were uploaded to a different server. I did lose phoon’s Nathan Barley caps, unfortunately. If anyone has them, please email them to me to put back up here!
If you take a few caps to use on your site, that’s fine. If you put up an entire episode’s worth of my caps on your site, I would like credit. Since this site is not really one for publicising itself, a link to my capping site would do brilliantly InTheMoonlight.net, or a link back to Where’s My Frog: The Naboo Fanlisting, which I also run, is fine.

This is why the admin area is now a blog with various categories, and each entry can be commented on - and in the comments is a little CAPTCHA image to prevent spam - oh yes, there will be spam when we stop hiding behind a passworded directory.
More tomorrow.

When you've uploaded your icon, it looks a lot like this (only if you got your icon from here, it's unlikely to have Axl Rose on it).
In the "comments" bar (shown with the arrow), simply insert text that reads: icon created by thestalkycop, or _phoon_ or whoever made it.
If you want the text to be a link, then insert this:
icon created by _phoon_

The BSH Site FAQ
Login Stuff
Q: What’s all this “login” stuff?
A: If you’re an author, you’ll need at least two logins. One is the username and password mentioned above – that’s simply for security of the site. If you don’t know why we need that, I suggest you listen to the audio commentary of The Fountain of Youth, then read phoon’s panic-stricken rant.
The second login is for using the automated archive. You will need a username and password (both are entirely up to you), and you get one by going to this page.
Q: I have an LJ account and belong to the Boosh Slash Haven, do I automatically get a login at the BSH website?
A: No, the site and archive are in no way linked to the livejournal site – in the sense of databases and passwords and such – the site is the official site for the LJ community but that’s as far as it goes.
Q: My work is archived, but I don’t remember signing up at the archive, what’s going on?
A: You gave me permission to archive your work, so I created an admin-backed user with your LJ username to archive your work. What you need to do is email me to ask me to release your account to you. The best way to do this is to send me something like this:
Dear Sarah,
I want to take control of my BSH fanfiction account, my details are:
Email: your email address – this is actually very important, because not everyone gave me their email addys, so in order to sign people up, I had to make an email addy up, so I went with username@livejournal.com - since not all of you are paid members of LJ, not all of these email addys exist, and they will bounce.
Username: your LJ username
Thanks for all your hard work, I love you, I adore you, you are the bestest most wonderful person in the whole wide world (this line is optional, but if you do put it in, please feel free to expand, those really suck up to me in the most grotesque way ever will get a little graphic or something!)
Love, kisses, and promises of Naboo,
Your name
Q: I had already asked for my details to be released before the move. Do I have to repeat the process?
A: No, your username and password should work automatically. If they don’t, try hitting the “Lost Password” link. If that still doesn’t work, email me – as above, I’ll need your preferred email address and your username. You can skip the sucking up to me paragraph, since you’ve probably done that already!
Q: Some of my work is missing, it was there before!/The title of my work is up, but the page is empty!
A: Argh, sometimes this happens when you move servers. Please could you re-upload your work?
Q: You’ve archived my work under [LJ username], but I’d really like to be known as [insert name] instead.
A: Email me, I can tweak the database.
Q: How do I get started on the archive?
After registering, or getting me to release your details (see above), then go to the archive, and choose “Account Info”, from there you can edit your details (your real name, your password, link to a user icon, etc), upload a story, edit your story, and loads of other stuff like that.
Q: I want to upload a story, but it looks a little complicated, and I heard a rumour that you’re an evil beeyatch from hell when people upload to the wrong place.
A: I am an evil beeyatch from hell when people upload to the wrong place. That much is very true. I spent ages sorting out the sub-categories so that people could find what they want easily. So here’s how to stay on the right side of me. Let’s just say you’re uploading a Boosh story with a ship of Howard/Vince, with Ultra/Neon in the background.
Go to “Account Info”
Click “Add New Story”
Fill in your title and summary, then we move on to category, which is where it gets complicated. Choose “The Mighty Boosh” from the drop-down list, but do not click “Select”. Now, click on the drop-down menu again, and it should list all the sub-categories for the Boosh category (Howard/Vince, Howard/Old Gregg, etc). Click “Howard/Vince”, now you can click “Select”. Choose “Ultra/Neon” from the drop-down list and click “Select” again.
Now you should be able to choose your genres, warnings (if appropriate) and characters. Until you select a category, only very few characters will be available for you to choose.
Fill in the rating, tick the box if it’s complete, and fill in all the rest of the details. Choose “Preview” just to make sure it looks all right, then “Add Story” when you’re ready.
Q: My story is a challenge fic, what do I do about that?
A: Go to “Challenges” in the navigation block, choose your challenge (I’m about a million behind, I know – could someone help me on that? I’ll be on msn all day – thestalkycop@hotmail.com - this is not my regular email addy, so please don’t email me on it).
Under the details, there should be a link that says, “Respond to the Challenge!”, click it, and you should have a list of your stories. Tick the boxes beside any fics that correlate to that challenge and press submit.
This works much the same if you want to add a story to a series.
Q: How do I add a chapter to an existing story?
A: Go to “Account Info” then go to “Manage Stories”, this will bring up a list of your current stories, from there you can choose “Add New Chapter”. Your information (pairing, category, rating, etc) should be pre-selected. If not, it’s the same method as before.
Q: I still don’t get…
A: Ask a question in the comments and I will update this post. I want this FAQ to be helpful and comprehensive.

Summary: Dancing, lots of it.
Rated: U, same as the show
File Size: 20.2 MB – again, a large file because it’s in Quicktime.
Format: Quicktime. Why? Because there’s hundreds of copies of Hero all over the net, thanks to YouTube, and I like to keep track of my vids.
Dedication and Thanks: Again to Maestro, who threatened to kick my arse if I didn’t finish this soon. This vid has been on my computer for months - even before Hero - waiting for the final 18 seconds to be put on. I have now done this. Enjoy.
Notes: There is no disclaimer on the vid itself. I feel bad about this, but cannot face rendering it again (once you see it, you’ll know which five-second segment took over an hour to render). I own nothing, not the song, not the clips, nothing.

Notes 2: The YouTube version is out of synch just enough to be annoying, so I suggest downloading it rather than watching the YouTube version.

I have removed the skins option for several reasons, the first was that I was never particularly happy with all of them, the second was that after the move they did not work in Firefox, and since that is the superior browser, I took this as a sign from the gods. So, new look that I like better.

Summary: When I vidded Hero, I found it really hard to find shippiness, and thought to myself that it must be so much easier to do a fighting vid. This vid proves me wrong. Muchas fighting between Vince and Howard. Once again, I aimed for comedy, and once again, I’m not sure I got there.
Rated: U, same as the show
File Size: 27.4 MB - this one’s huge because I used large clips. I will be uploading the re-mastered Hero vid soon too.
Format: Quicktime. Why? Because there’s hundreds of copies of Hero all over the net, thanks to YouTube, and I like to keep track of my vids.
Dedication and Thanks: Maestro, queen of all that is flamey and penguiny. Her *hard stares* really got me through this. The fear of Maestro was far stronger than the urge to leave this alone and come back to it later. Thanks to Karen, (Best Flatmate In The World™) I had a copy of the song.
Notes: Oh, by the way, feedback does not suck, so... yeah. Leave some bitches. Uh... nice bitches.

Notes 2: As with Pump Up The Volume, the YouTube version is slightly out of synch, so again, best to download it.
I am not affiliated with The Mighty Boosh, any of its cast and crew, etc. The nearest claim I can make to Boosh is that my boyfriend got asked if he was related to Julian Barratt when he went into Virgin to pre-order Boosh. Apparently Julian's family had been coming in all week to reserve their copies.
That, and I too, am clearly from Leeds.
